They are in the cars we drive, the digital cameras, camcorders, MP3-players, DVD players, and microwave ovens we use, and in the instruments that engineers, chemists, and physicists use everyday. They significantly outnumber the desktops, laptops, and workstations we see everywhere. This talk will overview various issues associated with the specification, design, prototyping, testing, implementation, and deployment of embedded systems. Underlying technology, such as DSPs, FPGAs, microcontrollers, and microprocessors and their related development environments will be discussed.
