CONFERENCE START
The conference starts on Monday August 19, 2002, at 12 o'clock
with lunch
(buffet style) at the hotel Odense Congress Center (OCC),
where all non-local participants will be accomodated.
The first lecture will start at 13.15 (i.e. a quarter past one)
in a meeting room at the hotel.
ARRIVING IN COPENHAGEN AIRPORT KASTRUP
If you arrive at Copenhagen Airport in Kastrup, just walk 100 meters
forward
when you get out into the arrival hall. Then you are at a railway station.
Buy a ticket for Odense - the price is (I think) 201 Dkr = approx.
27 US$ =
approx. 27 EURO (1 US$ = 1 EURO = 7.43 Dkr).
If you arrive on Sunday afternoon or evening it may be wise to ask
for a seat
reservation also (price 20 Dkr).
It is possible to pay using a Visa or a Master Card.
If you try to find a seat in the train without having a reservation,
look at the electronic display above each seat. It will tell you if
the seat
is already reserved and between which destinations.
There is a direct train each hour from Kastrup to Odense at 40 minutes
past
the hour (from 10.40 to 21.40),
and several more if you change at Copenhagen Main Station (Hovedbanegaarden).
The trip takes 109 minutes (so leaving Kastrup at say 16.40 will bring
you
into Odense at 18.29).
For 1600 Dkr it is possible to buy a 10 trip card (which may be used
for
the return trip also, so this is better if you are at least 5 together).
Please keep your ticket for later reimbursement.
ARRIVING AT ODENSE RAILWAYSTATION
From the platform take the escalator up, walk to the right towards
the exit,
take the escalator down to the main entrance.
If you take the exit opposite the exit to the street, you are at a
bus and
taxi terminal.
Busses number 81 and 82 from Section B (immediately to the left) will
take
you to the hotel OCC in 14 minutes.
There are two busses per hour most of the day. You do not have to pay
-
just show the driver your train ticket - it is valid for the bus ride
also.
Busses 81 and 82 leave the bus terminal B at the railway station
at these
times:
Monday-Friday:
6.25, 6.55, 7.25, 7.40, 7.55, 8.10, 8.40, 9.10, 9.40, etc, 16.40, 17.15,
17.45, 18.15, 18.45 etc. until 23.15, 00.15.
Saturday-Sunday:
6.35, 7.35, 8.35, 9.35, 10.15, 10.45, 11.15, 11.45, etc. until 21.15,
22.15,
23.15, 00.15.
Make sure you do not take the busses in the wrong direction (leaving
from
section C across the road).
