My main research areas cover mathematical modelling in structural biology and extreme value statistics with applications in mathematical economics and climate research. The research results regarding mathematical modelling have been published in Bioinformatics, BMC Bioinformatics, Journal of Computational Biology, Frontiers in Genetics, Bulletin of Mathematical Biology and Electronic Journal of Combinatorics. My research in extreme value statistics has led to publications in high-profile international journals such as Insurance: Mathematics and Economics, Econometrics and Statistics and Extremes.

Since 2015, I have been working together with Yuri Goegebeur and Armelle Guillou on the subject of theoretical extreme value statistcs. We jointly supervise a PhD student (Le N.K. Ho) since 2019. Currently, Yuri, Le and I work together as a research group on extreme value statistics in section Data science and statistics of Institute of mathematics and computer sciences (IMADA) in University of Southern Denmark.

I serve as a board memeber of Journal of Royal Society Interface since 2018 and review editor of Frontier in molecular biosciences since 2016.
